Search the internet and you’ll find that on any given day the world is celebrating something, whether comical or profound. From Pirate Day, International Joke Day or Peach Month, there’s no shortage of interests to recognise and commemorate.
Today is a celebration we wholeheartedly embrace here at Stitch. Today is the United Nation’s International Day of Friendship!
For those who don’t know, the reason Stitch was created was to help improve the lives of people over 50, by providing a platform where they could find companions in their local area – whether for friendship or romance. Because everybody needs company, no matter what their age.
It was created as a community where friendships could be forged, a place where strangers would become friends, where neighbours could become family. So on this International Day of Friendship, we thank you for being a member of Stitch, for playing your part in creating a supportive community underpinned by meaningful friendships.
Thank you for dedicating your time to organise and host events that welcome our new members as well as re-engage our existing members. Thank you for initiating online discussions in our forums which foster good will among our international cultures. Simply, thank you for embracing Stitch and making it the passionate community it is today. Here’s to many more years of laughter, fun and friendships together!
If you’re a member, we’d love to hear about your experiences making friends on Stitch! If you’re not a member yet and would like to learn more about Stitch or have any questions, feel free to send us an email here: [email protected]
